In 2011 MAO launched new programe, introducing the exhibition Open Depot. Matevz Celik was leading a team of curators who set up MAO's first exhibition. In a simply redesigned exhibition space visitors could enter the working environment of the museum curators, moving amongst depot shelves, bookcases, crates, and archival boxes with names recorded and catalogued by the museum. According to the words of Dietmar Steiner, who opened the exhibition, this was one of the best architectural presentations he has ever seen. Several projects for public space renewal in Bled itself and in the surrounding villages have been studied as a part of aspiration to restructure local tourism branch and boost more sustainable smaller accommodation units in historic surrounding. The proposal aims at restricting motorised traffic allong the Lake Bled as well as in certain historic areas, encouraging walking, cycling and the use of other sustainable modes of transport.
